The Reform UK leader Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by telling children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and white children oppressors.

During an event for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his perspective on the UK education system, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike soon after securing a victory,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

In response to these assertions, the head of a major education union dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his public life on coded rhetoric and now, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, including education … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

The party, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on a proposed education policy and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks suggested the group would reform the system and the curriculum. He said: “We have got a massive job with education – truly monumental. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind as opposed to current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for children.

During the American gathering, Farage also vowed to promote the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He stated such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I mean this. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this tonight and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to every interested learner.”
