Plane Carrying Pete Hegseth Required to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window
An aircraft ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the jet's front window, according to an announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft landed following standard procedures and everyone onboard, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," an official representative commented in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a brief trip to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident is not the first time that a United States armed forces jet carrying a top government figure has experienced mechanical issues.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was compelled to head back to the US capital after suffering a technical issue.
