Esteemed Star Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
American performer Finn, who appeared in popular programs such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per media reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones said in a message.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
An Extensive TV Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a regular part on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous well-known programs, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.
The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
