Emma Raducanu ends her season and has decided to continue with coach into the 2026 season.
Raducanu made it to the third stage in three out of four Grand Slams this year.
Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has pulled out of her final two events of the year as a result of a health issue she has been battling for the last week and a half.
Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but chose to travel back to regain her health before starting her preparations for 2026.
Those preparations will include her coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.
She underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round versus Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.
She needed once more medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.
She was also playing far from freely in the final set against Zhu because of the lower back problem that has affected her during parts of the season.
These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the international top 30 for the first time for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.
Raducanu had three match points before losing to Pegula in the third stage in Beijing last month.
She secured twenty-eight matches this year and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March.
As Britain's top player made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.
Her coach was trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.
The first plan with the former trainer of Nadal was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions for the end of the year.
Raducanu told that a three-day test period with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as the meeting was kept under wraps.
The player was close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.
Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
