David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Prolific young adult author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
A representative for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding reports of conduct deemed unsuitable involving young women.
The publisher did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
An Illustrious Writing Journey
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.
His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works altogether, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
From Screen to Page
His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
