Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening stating they have knowledge of claims of abuse made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the league office.
The organization omitted the name of Rice specifically in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Allegations Shared on Social Media
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, posted a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the second round.

No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have taken place.
Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this season due to an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals hurt. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, he finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
